Bible Saturday 4/1: Death Reversed

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 75:1-10. Verses 4-7, how can I train myself to avoid the foolish mistake of basing my hopes or fears on current events in the news, as if God were not sovereign?

Zechariah 7:1-14. Verses 4-7, have I recently in any way acted as if my devotions, worship, and churchgoing were about me, not about God? What’s the consequence?

John 11:1-44. Verses 21-26, Martha’s expectations of Jesus weren’t big enough. How does this apply to my prayer life at present?

John 11:45-12:11. Verses 3-7, Mary’s adoration of Jesus. What can I learn, and put into practice this very week, from her example?
