Bible Monday 4/17: I'm Listening, Lord

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-40. Verse 8, what traits or behaviors in my family history, displeasing to God, do I desire—with His help—to eradicate from myself and my descendants?

Exodus 9:1-35. Pharaoh falters but won’t yet yield. What is the toughest trial of my patience and determination as a Christian that I’ve ever undergone?

II Peter 1:1-12. Verses 4-7, related, what is going on in my life right now that I can take as an opportunity to deepen these Christlike qualities in myself? What will fruitfulness (success) look like?

John 21:1-14. Verse 6, related again, where do I feel I’m coming up empty at present, for which Jesus wants to show me a better way if I just stop and listen to him?
