Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 105:1-45. Verses 16-26, Pharaoh’s stubborn refusal to heed God’s warnings. When have I ignored God’s repeated messages to obey or else? What did I learn? Present application??
Exodus 5:1-23. The Israelites blame Moses for the slave-masters’ harshness. How does the worldly mind addict us to a slave mentality that fears freedom? What is God’s remedy I can call upon?
I Corinthians 15:12-19. Related, what blessings become possible, desirable, and attainable for me today because of Jesus’ resurrection, that would have been impossible otherwise?
Luke 24:36-53. Verses 39-43, Jesus uses physical evidence to strengthen the disciples’ spiritual faith. When has the Lord used “hard proof” to increase my trust and reliance upon him?
