Bible Thursday 4/20: Need a Janitor?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 84:1-12. Verse 10, how does everyday life present me with the choice between enjoying higher status among the worldly or accepting humbler status in God’s household?

Exodus 12:1-51. God takes vengeance on the Egyptians but passes over the Israelites. Verse 23, for me and my family and my church right now, what does it mean that we’re marked with the blood of the Lamb?

I Peter 2:11-25. Verses 12 and 15, this day, this week, what opportunity can I find to witness of God to unbelievers—not by what I say but by what I do?

John 3:14-21. Verse 17, related, how can I be a more winsome ambassador for Christ by placing his salvation, not his condemnation, first and foremost?
