Bible Friday 4/21: Fix on the Pillar

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 34:1-22. Verse 3 KJV, what will I decide to magnify in my thoughts and words today? Shall I magnify my troubles, my worries, my fears, my resentments, my regrets? Or shall I magnify God and his goodness?

Exodus 13:1-22. Verse 21, no longer accompanied a visible pillar of fire or cloud, what is my equivalent spiritual reminder of God’s presence, provision, and protection? Why do I sometimes forget it’s there?

I Peter 3:13-22. Verse 15, answering with a reason for my hope in Christ. What’s my elevator speech (a few dozen words at most) if someone today asks why I’m a Christian?

John 3:22-36. Verse 30, what will be the result if each thing that occurs today, each thing I do, I make it less about me and more about Jesus?
