Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 136:1-26. Verses 17-21, what evil forces do I need to have God defeat for me today?
Exodus 19:1-25. God readies Moses and the people for fearsome doings at Mount Sinai. Do I have sufficient awe, sufficient reverent fear, for approaching the throne room of the Almighty?
I Peter 3:1-12. Verses 8 and 9, what practical improvements in thought and deed can I make toward a higher standard of holiness in human relationships, starting at home?
John 6:60-71. Verses 60 and 66, does my church sometimes take the edge off its proclamation of the gospel, so as not to lose attendance? Do I do this personally? Action point?
