Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 127:1-5. Verse 1, what have I recently been working hard on, but without faithfully committing the outcome to God?
Exodus 17:1-16. Verse 12, helping Moses lift his hands to the Lord. Are there ways God could make more use of me, if I took a humbler approach?
I Corinthians 11:23-26. How important is the Lord’s Supper, the Holy Eucharist, to my Christian life? Does my church honor this sacrament as it should?
John 6:41-51. How does the everlasting life that Jesus promised make things different for me this very day, not just in the future? Could I explain this to a nonbeliever in everyday terms they’d relate to?
