Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 10:1-18 KJV. Who are “the wicked” in our world today? Are some found even in the church and other places of respectability? Is God’s purpose to reclaim them or merely remove them? What’s my role?
Exodus 27:1-21. Verse 20, spiritually considered, what is the lamp that God wants me to keep forever burning in fidelity to him? With what spiritual oil am I to fuel it?
I Corinthians 8:1-13. Verse 1, in my dealings with others today, what opportunity can I find to be less of a know-it-all and more a bringer of Christ’s love?
John 8:1-11. Related, what small part can I play in representing Jesus to my neighbors as a merciful redeemer, not a thrower of stones?
