Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 16:1-11. Verse 4, what are the false gods—often subtle, benign, well disguised—that our true and living God commands me to abhor and shun today?
Exodus 28:1-43. Holy garments. What are some particulars of the clothing Jesus intends to dress me in, that I may approach the Father and Son enthroned?
I Corinthians 9:1-10. Paul on the defensive, prickly. What stresses and sacrifices, financial or otherwise, do my pastors constantly undergo? How can I better support and encourage them?
John 8:12-20. Verse 12, how have I experienced Jesus as a light in the darkness? Whom can I bless today by sharing this testimony with them? What darkness is He now asking me to faithfully walk through?
