Bible Thursday 6/1: O Ye of Little Faith

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-40. Verses 9 and 10, asking if God can really do it. How do questions about God’s ability or willingness to meet my needs, subtly creep into my prayers? What is the antidote?

Leviticus 11:1-47. What animals God will and will not permit his people to eat. Is there a lesson here for me about unwholesome “mental foods” to avoid if I want to walk closely with the Lord?

Acts 3:11-26. Peter uses the stir over the lame man’s healing to preach a salvation message. What opening might God provide me, today or very soon, for sharing Christ with someone ready to listen?

John 4:15-26. Verses 21-24, how well do I individually, and my church collectively, measure up to Jesus’ expectation of how we are to worship the Father? Action point?
