Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 122:1-9. Verse 1, what do I gain from going regularly with other believers into the house of the Lord, not just staying home for solo worship? What can I do to gain still more from that experience?
Numbers 6:1-27. Verses 25 and 26, how can I focus the eye of my heart today so as to behold God’s face, God’s countenance? What can be the result of my doing so?
Acts 10:34-48. The Holy Ghost teaches Peter and Cornelius the inclusiveness and impartiality of God’s grace. What can my church do to attest this more fully in our community? My role?
Mark 3:13-19. Verse 14, Jesus ordains the Twelve to “be with him.” To what attitudes and actions must I give myself over, in order that I can “be with” Jesus today? How will it show?
