Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 43:1-5. Verse 3, praying for God to send me his light and his truth. How shall I get myself in a posture to receive those, right now this minute? To what particular needs shall I apply them today?
Numbers 30:1-16. God’s law on the keeping of vows by his people. When have I broken my word? Why is that of concern to God? Present application in my life?
Acts 17:16-34. Did Paul err at Athens by not proclaiming Jesus’ name and warning more forcefully of the judgment to come? If an evangelism opportunity arises for me today, will I be ready to meet the moment?
Mark 9:30-41. Verses 33-35, in my life at present, how is Jesus presenting me with the choice between trying to stand out and seeking to serve? Action point?
