Bible Sunday 7/16: World Upside Down

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 39:1-13. Verses 1-3, when have I spoken unwisely or unkindly in the past week? How can I do better this coming week? Where does God come into all this?

Numbers 29:1-40. With the Old Testament sacrificial system having ended, what offerings does God now expect of me—no less reverently and punctiliously—as a New Testament believer?

Acts 17:1-15. Verse 6, what are some ways in which Jesus truly does—or should—turn the world upside down for me, my family, and our community? Which of those must I stop evading?

Mark 8:31- 9:1. Verse 34, related, what cross has Jesus given me to bear? Will he have another one for me some day soon? How much would be too much?
