Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 70:1-5. David asks God to make haste, hurry up, move fast. What situation in my life right now calls for such a prayer? Am I praying it more in faith or in doubt?
Hosea 4:1-19. Verses 1 and 6, have I recently been prioritizing worldly knowledge over the knowledge of God? What’s the consequence? What’s to be done?
Acts 21:15-25. Paul, James, and the other apostles contend with zealous Jews who demand they exalt Moses and Jesus equally. Am I susceptible to the fallacy of “Jesus and (fill in the blank)”?
Mark 11:25-33. Verses 25 and 26, what’s the hardest thing for me to forgive? In trying to make an exception of that, what does it cost me? Action point for today?
