Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 69:1-36. Verses 2 and 14, is there part of my life that feels like a long swim in deep water, barely staying afloat? Shall I renew my trust in God today, that he will rule the waves and pull me through?
Hosea 3:1-5. God commands Hosea to love the unlovely, and equips him to do so. What opportunity can I find today to undertake the same—in Jesus’ name?
Acts 21:1-14. Verses 11-13, if I felt that God was calling me to take more risks for the gospel, what would that look like in my immediately surroundings, starting now?
Mark 11:12-24. Verses 22 and 23, what is the “mountain” in my life that I’m praying Jesus will move for me? Have I been making that prayer more in faith or in doubt?
