Bible Saturday 8/12: Jericho is Taken

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 105:1-45. Verse 1, how can I do more today in making God known than I did yesterday?

Joshua 6:1-27. Obeying God patiently and precisely, Joshua conquers Jericho. When have I become impatient with God and suffered for it? When have I been rewarded for exact fidelity to his commands?

Acts 24:10-21. On trial, Paul takes his stand for resurrection hope. Is my church clear on this—that not only is religious persecution wrong, but that above all the gospel is right? My role?

Mark 14:53-65. Verse 62, if Jesus returns today, what do I want him to find me doing?
