Bible Sunday 8/6: Into the Kingdom

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 27:1-14. Verse 11, what do I want to have God teach me today? What might be his methods, his lesson plan?

Hosea 14:1-9. Verse 4, when did God find me backsliding, and graciously love me out of it? Application to present needs?

II Peter 1:10-21. Verse 11, do I expect to experience the Kingdom of Jesus Christ only in the future, or here and now? If the latter, how will today be different? What will others notice about me?

Mark 9:2-13. Peter witnesses Jesus’ transfiguration with his own eyes and ears. What evidence that Christ is Lord—less dramatic but still convincing to me—can I rely upon and testify about, today?
