Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 95:1-11. Verse 11, what is required of me in order to enter the rest God has prepared for his faithful ones? What will that feel like when I attain it?
Joshua 3:1-17. Verse 13, is there an obstacle I’ve been asking God to clear away, but which he wants me to start wading right in and get my feet wet, in token of my faith in his deliverance?
II Peter 3:1-9. Verse 8, related, have I been feeling that his timing is all wrong on some issue of great importance to me? Is this the day when I trustingly lay all that impatience on his altar?
Mark 14:27-31. When have I pledged something to Jesus with rash bravado, only to be soon humbled by my own shortcomings? Prayer point for today?
