Bible Friday 8/18: The Cross of Calvary

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:1-48. Verses 29 and 30, in what way will this day force me to choose between living by lies or living by truth? Prayer point?

Joshua 12:1-24. Tally of all the many kings whom the Israelites under Moses and Joshua defeated in conquering Canaan. What are some notable victories God has given me in my life?

Acts 26:12-23. Verse 14 KJV, kicking against the pricks. Am I in any way right now willfully trying to go upstream against what Jesus clearly commands me to do?

Mark 15:33-47. On Calvary, Jesus breathes his last. What must I do today to accept gratefully the redemption he bought me, and to return some tiny portion off the love he poured out for me?
