Bible Sunday 8/20: Marching Orders

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:89-128. Verse 105, what’s occurring in my life at present, on which I most need God’s word to light my way forward? What falsely seems to be a light on my path, but which I mustn’t rely on?

Joshua 14:1-15. Caleb claims from Joshua the land at Hebron that God promised him as a reward long ago. What demand is on me now to go against the flow in serving God as did these two in spying out Canaan?

Acts 27:1-12. Verses 9-11, related, is there a responsibility upon me right now that calls for supernatural discernment such as only the Holy Spirit can give?

Mark 16:9-20. Verse 15, reviewing 2023 so far, what opportunities to preach the gospel as Jesus commanded have I missed?
