Bible Monday 9/11: Hang In There

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 30:1-12. Verses 5 and 11, who is someone I know that is experiencing sadness right now, to whom I can offer a word of God’s comfort—and even God’s joy?

Judges 12:1-15. Verse 9, mixed marriages of Israelites with the heathen, under Judge Ibzan. Is my church, in assimilating non-believers, too lax, too strict, or about right? Why does it matter?

II Corinthians 9:1-15. Verse 8, how shall I express more fully today the grace of God in giving generously for divine worship and human needs?

Luke 8:1-3. If asked by a college student whether becoming a Christian would help or hinder her aspirations as a woman, how might I form an answer based on this glimpse of Jesus’ ministry?
