Bible Tuesday 9/12: Every Thought

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 34:1-22. Verse 8, as I go through this day, what will be the difference between my having mere head-knowledge of God and my truly tasting of God’s goodness?

Judges 13:1-25. Samson, child of promise. Is my church doing all it can to teach that God delights to see his people bring babies into this world?

II Corinthians 10:1-11. Verses 3-5, what is the most important spiritual battle I am fighting right now? What strongholds must I pull down? What thoughts must I bring captive to Christ? How sure am I of victory?

Luke 8:4-15. What’s one small, simple thing I could do each day to improve the “soil preparation” of my heart to fruitfully receive the word of God?
