Bible Wednesday 9/6: The Centurion's Faith

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 29, leaping a wall. What obstacle stands in the way of an important goal for me right now? How shall I ask God to help me over it?

Judges 7:1-25. God reduces Gideon’s army by over 99%, then gives him the victory. When have I prevailed in Christ, after seeing my human chances of success worsen? Application for today’s needs?

II Corinthians 7:2-7. Comfort and joy, warmth of Christian fellowship, adversity brushed aside. Who do I know that needs a big dose of this today, which I can help deliver through the love of Jesus?

Luke 7:1-10. What am I wrestling with at present, for which my fuller acceptance of Jesus’ commanding authority could make all the difference?
