Bible Monday 9/18: More than Enough

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 47:1-9. Verses 1 and 9, by what attitudes and actions shall I “shout to the Lord” today, even if not a sound is heard?

Judges 19:1-30. A brutal rape and murder shocks all Israel. What is my church doing to combat America’s anything-goes morality and devaluation of human life? My role?

Amos 1:1-15. A prophet pronounces God’s severe punishment for the sins of his age. What’s expected of me today in terms of repentance for my sins, and remission of them? Where’s my accountability?

Luke 9:10-17. What miracle of multiplication is needed at present for me or someone among my family and friends? In bringing this to Jesus do I have more a feeling of doubt or of faith?
