Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 51:1-19. Verses 2-4, does my approach to confession of sin meet with God’s approval? Changes I should make, resolves I should form?
Judges 20:1-48. Israel exacts vengeance for Benjamin’s sponsorship of the concubine atrocity. What is my church doing about America’s growing indifference to violence, crime, and degeneracy?
Amos 2:1-16. God’s disgust at finding his people no less degenerate than the heathen. Same question as in Judges above.
Luke 9:18-27. Verse 20, what person needs to hear from me, today or one day soon, with all the bluntness of Peter, that Jesus isn’t just a great teacher but he is God’s only Son, our Savior and our Lord?
