Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 76:1-12. Verse 10, man’s wrath, God’s praise. What am I angry, annoyed, offended, or indignant about at present? Can I honestly claim that emotion is for the glory of God?
Deuteronomy 30:1-20. Verses 15 and 19, in what subtle and inconspicuous ways may God present me with life-and-death choices today?
Hebrews 11:30-40. Concluding the honor roll of Old Testament faith. Who is someone, known to me personally, that I would list on the honor roll of New Testament faith? How shall emulate him/her today?
Matthew 12:9-14. What’s wrong with a legal code that doesn’t value a man above a sheep? How does such moral confusion afflict our country today? What is my church doing about it?
