Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 113:1-9. Verse 6, how have I experienced God humbling himself to behold my sins and struggles? What do I most need from him today?
Nehemiah 2:1-20. Nehemiah walks the walls, confiding his purpose to no one. Is there a special act of devotion that God has placed on my heart, known only to him and me? What does he want me to do next?
Galatians 2:11-21. Verses 19 and 20, are there some old ways God wants me to let go of, now that Christ lives in me?
Luke 12:49-59. Related, is Jesus a bit disappointed in me as a shallow, superficial Christian, dragging my feet, going through the motions? What would it look like today if I yield to the fire he is sending?
