Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 116:1-19. Verse 15, who that has now died, precious in God’s sight, shall I honor by thought, word, and action today?
Nehemiah 3:1-32. Honor roll of the builders’ names and their exact stations along the wall. Who’s someone I’m praying for as they look for work? Can I trust them into the care of the same God who oversaw Nehemiah’s work?
Galatians 3:1-14. How can I expect this to be a better day if I approach it through the faith of Jesus Christ crucified, instead of through the works of the law?
Luke 13:1-9. What fruit does Jesus want from me today? Does he leave me alone in becoming fruitful, or is he there to help? What’s to be done?
