Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 100:1-5. Verse 3, why does God command me to remember I’m not self-made? How does that fallacy creep in on me? What’s my reward for resisting it?
Ezra 6:1-22. The temple rebuilding is finished with direct, emphatic support from King Darius. Is there some goal that I’ve been treating as out of reach for God, which I should rethink today with daring hope?
II Corinthians 10:12-11:4. Verses 2-4, if my church is to understand itself as the bride of Christ, what are the markers people should notice about us? What counterfeits of Jesus and his gospel must we beware of?
Luke 11:45-54. Verse 52, what is the key of knowledge for entering God’s kingdom that Jesus’ enemies—or his false friends—want to hide from me today? When I get hold of that key, what then?
