Bible Sunday 11/17: Stillness

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 46:1-11. Verse 10, what might the result be if right now I become completely still and let God make himself known to me?

Isaiah 22:1-25. Verses 12 and 13, the choice between reckless self-indulgence and mournful contrition before God. How is this manifested in today’s world? What is my church doing about it?

Rvelation 2:18-29. Verses 19, 23, 26, what would it look like to align my works with God’s works all day today?

Luke 20:41-44. Related, how would things change if I learn to build my life around the unshakable conviction that Jesus is Lord?
