Bible Saturday 11/16: On Watch

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 42:1-11. Verse 8, what struggles, physical or spiritual, tend to come upon me at night? Shall I trust God to hear my prayers tonight and answer me with a song?

Isaiah 21:1-17. Verses 5-12, watchman and watchtower. What is the watchfulness that God requires of me, to serve him and his people? What’s at stake?

Revelation 2:8-17. Verse 17, how would it change things for me if I’m given a white stone with a new name on it, a secret between me and God?

Luke 20:27-40. Verse 36, related, what new possibilities would open up for me and my loved ones if Jesus found us worthy to be children of the resurrection?
