Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 5, in what way, known to God and probably to other people, am I foolish? With what quality shall I pray God to replace my foolishness?
Lamentations 2:1-22. What’s going on right now in my community, my immediate surroundings, that makes God angry? What can I do about it?
Luke 20:9-19. Verse 14, why is the worldly mind so intent on killing Jesus, and even now erasing and silencing him? What’s the fallacy in their plan of seizing his inheritance?
Matthew 26:1-16. Verse 2, why didn’t the disciples, though plainly told, get it that Jesus’ death was imminent? What has Jesus perhaps been trying to get across to me of late, and I’ve just not heard him?
