Bible Friday 5/10: His Mighty Hand

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 23:1-6. Verse 2, green pastures and still waters. Translating these symbols into my practical needs for today, what am I trusting God to provide and do?

Ezekiel 33:1-33. Verse 7, if I should undertake the duties of a watchman, to warn and alert the people of God, what would that actually look like as I go about my everyday life?

I Peter 5:1-14. Verses 5-7, in seeking to humble myself before God more fully today than yesterday, how shall I go about that in thought, word, and deed?

John 8:31-47. Verses 31 and 32, only in loving and obeying Jesus can we know the truth that makes us free. What is my church doing to counteract the fallacy of quoting the “free” part but skipping the “Jesus” part?
