Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 106:1-48. Israel’s repetitive pattern of forgetting God, then remembering him again. Have I been through this cycle? Learned anything, gained any ground?
Ezekiel 7:1-27. Verses 2-6, the end is come. What would it look like for God to pass this verdict on my church or my country? Verses 16-18, doves in mourning. What would this require of me, if I’m spared?
I Corinthians 9:19-27. Verse 22, all things to all men. How can I put this into practice? What’s the opportunity? What’s the danger?
John 6:60-71. Some stick with Jesus, some fall away. What are some specific ways this decision confronts me? Do I need an accountability partner?
