Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 107:1-43. Verse 2, God wants us to testify of his redemption. Who needs to hear about this from me today? When and where? How shall I prepare?
Ezekiel 8:1-18. He sees a vision of Israel caught in shocking sacrilege. Is there any comparable corruption of God’s people at the present day? What shall I do about it?
I Corinthians 6:1-11. Related, Paul condemns moral failings in the early church. Verse 11, how do my thoughts and actions fall short of what Jesus expected when he washed, sanctified, and justified me?
John 2:13-25. Verse 21, related again, how does the realization that Jesus is the all the temple I need, clarify and simplify my approach to being a Christian?
