Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 100:1-6. Verse 3, to think of myself as one of God’s sheep, is that a welcome feeling in one way but unwelcome in another? Shall I lean into that idea today,, or push it away?
Ezekiel 4:1-17. God tells the prophet to play-act the sufferings of Jerusalem under siege, in strange and distasteful ways. Have I been allowing a “comfort zone” to come between me and true obedience to Him?
I Corinthians 11:17-26. Verse 26, what shall I do today to commemorate the death of the Lord Jesus?
John 6:30-40. Verse 35, what hunger and thirst have I been trying to satisfy in worldly ways, which nothing else but Jesus can truly satisfy for me?
