Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 95:1-11. Verse 6, why is a kneeling posture for prayer and worship so widely used throughout the Bible? Why would God be pleased that I seldom or never use that posture in coming to Him?
Ezekiel 3:1-27. Verse 17, if I felt called to be a watchman for God’s people, what attitudes and actions must I undertake to obey that call?
I Corinthians 10:14-22. Do I take the communion of the blood and body of Christ as seriously as did the early church? Am I in any way susceptible to the cup and table of devils, verse 21?
John 6:22-29. Verse 27, what are the rewards and benefits I seek in following Jesus? How much of my attention and effort is given over to false rewards with no lasting benefit?
