Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 5, God knows my foolishness. What are the specifics here, applicable to me? What harm is done? Action point?
Leviticus 9:1-24. Verse 24, God’s fire consumes the altar. What is the risk to me in ever taking a casual approach to God’s holiness and his commandments to me?
Acts 3:1-10. Verse 6, recently in my prayers for a particular need, have I been asking God for less than the fullness of what he wants to give me?
John 17:20-26. Verses 21 and 22, what is keeping all of Jesus’ followers from being at one with him and with each other, as he prayed that God would bring about? What is my church doing about it? My role?
