Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 66:1-20. Verse 10, when has God tried me severely, like silver being refined by fire? In what way am I better for it here and now, more useful to him and to others?
Leviticus 10:1-20. Two of Aaron’s sons perform their priestly duties carelessly and pay with their lives. What would it look like for me to serve the Lord with fear and trembling today? Or is that no longer necessary?
Acts 3:11-26. Peter, after healing the lame man, preaches Jesus to the eager crowd. What does his sermon have that today’s sermons often lack? What’s useful to me here as a model for 1/1 evangelism?
John 11:25-30. Who needs to hear from me today about the resurrection power that comes from believing in Jesus?
