Bible Wednesday 5/29: From the Start

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 71:1-24. Verses 6, 9, 17, 18, as I get older, what are the factors tending to separate me from God and test my faith? By what attitudes and actions, with His help, can I counteract all that?

Leviticus 11:1-47. Recognizing that the Jewish dietary laws are inapplicable to Christians, is there a symbolic spiritual lesson here for me, in terms of eating only what is clean in God’s sight?

Acts 4:1-12. What specifically would it look like today for me to take Jesus Christ crucified and risen as the cornerstone of my life?

John 18:1-11. Peter’s mistake with the sword. Reflecting on the right way and wrong way of taking my stand with Jesus today, how shall I proceed?
