Bible Saturday 6/1: Cynicism of Pilate

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-40. Verses 18-20, have I been underestimating what God can do or will do, in proof of his unconditional love for me?

Leviticus 14:1-57. God’s directives to help his people combat leprosy. With due respect for modern medicine, what was lost when God was walled off from public health issues, as with Covid since 2020?

Acts 4:32-37. If I really love God and God’s people more than all my earthly possessions, what is the next step I can take to show it, live it out?

John 18:28-40. Verse 38, what is truth? By what actions today can I respond to this question not in Pilate’s way, but in Jesus’ way?
