Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 92:1-15. Verses 13 and 14, as I get older, what is my greatest regret looking back and my greatest concern looking ahead? How does God answer those? What fruit does he want from me right now, this year?
Leviticus 21:1-24. The high standards God used to require of his priests in Israel. What are some of the standards God now requires of all his people in Christ? Where can I do better?
Acts 7:37-53. Is there anyone I know personally who speaks hard truths to my church about their shortcomings? Does God expect any such witness from me? What price would I have to pay?
Mark 1:21-28. Jesus’ authority to teach and heal. If he were to confer some of that authority on me, how would I use it today?
