Bible Thursday 8/22: Resurrection Morning

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 121:1-8. Shall I decide right now to lift up my eyes for God’s help all day today, instead of casting them down with worry and fear?

I Kings 14:1-31. Misery in Israel and Judah: civil war, idolatry, misrule. These next 100 days, will my church be divided and distracted by worldly politics, or confident and united around King Jesus?

Job 6:1-30. Despairing, Job asks God to destroy him. If this means I’m allowed to complain before him in bitter honesty, what is my grievance today?

Mark 16:1-8. What am I wrestling with at present, for which I especially need Jesus to show up with resurrection power?
