Bible Tuesday 8/20: The Cry from the Cross

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:89-128. Verse 126, time for you to work. What problem have I been taking too much on myself of late, which I can humbly entrust to God starting today?

I Kings 12:1-33. Judah’s new king quickly displeases God. As the political season intensifies, is my church doing all it can to exalt King Jesus?

Job 4:1-21. Eliphaz seems to scold Job. Does self-importance sometimes tempt me to blame the victim?

Mark 15:33-41.-Verse 34, as death looms, Jesus prays with the words of Psalm 22. What psalm shall I lean on in facing the demands of this day?
