Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:49-88. Verses 67, 71, 75, when has affliction benefitted me and drawn me closer to God? Present application?
I Kings 11:1-43. Solomon, previously devout and wise, is undone by heathen women and false gods. Do I sometimes become spiritually lazy, grow careless and get above myself?
Job 3:1-26. Job in despair, nearing bottom. What’s the lowest I have ever been? How did God show up?
Mark 15:27-32.-The mob mocks and taunts the dying Jesus. Why do the worldlings of today, instead of embracing their Savior, scorn him? What’s to be done?
