Bible Sunday 8/18: Golgotha

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:1-48. Verse 10, how can I serve God today on a faithful and purposeful path, not a wandering path?

I Kings 10:1-29. The Queen of Sheba comes to prove King Solomon with hard questions, and opens her heart to him. With whom do I have an unsparing accountability relationship, helping each other know Christ?

Job 2:1-13. Related, who is going through grief, loss, or struggle right now—and needs me to just show up and sit with them as a reminder that God still cares? Action point for today?

Mark 15:21-26. In specific, practical terms, here and now today, what does it look like for me to bear the cross in love and loyalty for Jesus?
