Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 27:1-14. Verse 8, seeking God’s face. What actions and attitudes does this require of me today?
II Kings 10:1-36. Jehu’s zealous work for the Lord is marred by some ongoing idolatry. What are the gaps or weak spots in my fidelity to God that I am overdue in addressing?
Job 21:22-34. Job charges the three comforters with giving a shallow and simplistic account of the ways of God. Could the same charge be made at me?
Luke 6:43-49. Jesus warns us to build on rock, not on sand. What experiences have I had that bear this out? What building work am I doing this very day that requires adherence to his warning?
