Bible Saturday 1/25: Lost and Found

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 39:1-13. Verse 7, my hope is in Thee. Is there something about which I feel myself losing hope right now? How can I take it to God and draw fresh hope from, starting today?

Genesis 25:1-34. Isaac and Rebekah’s twin sons, rivals from birth. How has my family experienced God’s grace in stormy times? Application to present needs?

Hebrews 10:1-18. Verses 10 and 14, how have I changed as a person through Jesus’ sacrificial death sanctifying and perfecting me? What is the next stage in that process going to look like for me?

Matthew 10:32-42. Related, verses 37-39, what is specifically involved in taking up my cross today and following Jesus?
