Bible Tuesday 1/28: Need a Rest?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 71:1-24. If I go through this day in the strength of the Lord, what thoughts, words, and actions would that produce in me?

Genesis 28:1-22. Jacob dreams of angels on a ladder to heaven. If I could have angels helping me converse with God today, what would I most desire to say to him and hear from him?

Hebrews 12:3-11. What have I been going through lately that may have seemed harsh and unfair, but which in fact was all part of God’s fatherly chastisement leading me into righteousness, peace, and joy?

Matthew 11:25-30. Related, how can I go about yoking up with Jesus today, learning his ways and gaining his rest?
