Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 141:1-10. Verse 3, what did I say yesterday that did not express pure love of God and neighbor? How can I do better today?
Hosea 7:1-16. God’s deep disappointment, almost disgust, with the wickedness of his people Israel. What must be his verdict on America today? What is my church doing about it? My role?
Romans 7:13-25. Verse 19, when have I experienced this struggle of two selves in conflict? What did I learn? Application to present needs?
Matthew 22:15-22. Do Christians these days tend to render too much to Caesar, or too little? If we began to render to God all that he deserves from us, how disruptive would it be in my church and my community?
